Hello Monday!!

First complete the graph on page six in your packet.  You will need the score sheet from the game we played on Thursday.

Then go to the text with notes section in TCI.  There are three more readings at the bottom.   Read Further and  Explore.

Answer the questions that come after the readings on the computer.  They are not in the packet.

In Google classroom I have pushed out the Friday Film Festival videos.  Follow the instructions completely to get full credit for the assignment. 

Natural Resources Investigation 1.

Today we will play a game where we try to find the places that have natural resources.

You only need a pencil and your packet. 

More Natural resources today!!

Read Sections 5 and 6 about soil and copper ore.

Study the key concept section.

Then read section 7 about wood

Last read the summary and do the word match game.

Complete the questions in your packet for sections 5, 6 and 7.

Log int TCI.  At the bottom of the blue menu there is a section titled Biographies. Choose a famous scientist and read their biography.  After reading the story of their life write a summary, include their contribution to science. Complete as many as you can during the class period. Towards the end of the class you will share with your partner about the scientists your read about.

3. Complete the video assignment paper and turn it in the white bucket.

Today we you will present your comic strip or storybook to the class. After you present bring your project to me and I will grade it.  If you do not present today you will lose credit for it being late. 

Please check your grade in Aeries.  There are a lot of missing assignments that need to be turned in.  The six week grading period ends on Friday. :)

Friday the 13th!!

Today you will use you knowledge of the water cycle and pages 240-241 in the textbook to make a model.  You will choose the type of model to make.  Either a comic strip story or a children's story book.  Either way you will tell the story of a character traveling through the water cycle. Your story must include at least three processes in the water cycle, words and descriptions of whats happening and colorful pictures.  Have fun with this and be creative.  On Monday you will present your story to the class. 

Today is reading day. I want everyone to listen to the readings with headphones on.  Then you can re-read when you answer the questions.  Make sure to click on vocabulary words to see the definitions.  The readings are 1,2,3,4, in the water cycle lesson.  The questions are on pages 3 and 4 in the packet. Remember to make sure you understand the reading and do a good job answering the questions.  Use the R.A.C.E.  strategy bookmark!!

We are finishing the first investigation for the water cycle. Today you will make your own water cycle model.

You need pencil and our new packet.  If you didn't do the lesson game yesterday for The Rock Cycle you will need to do it on your own time. Turn in the Rock Cycle packet to the white box in the back of the classroom.

Please turn in your video notes from Friday.  Put them in the white box.  Next I want you to study the vocabulary cards in TCI.  Then we will do the lesson game. At the end of the lesson game find the button that says final question and click on it,  There will be 21 questions.  After the lesson game you will have the remainder of the period to make sure your packet is complete, finish it if it is not complete, then turn it in. Staple the handouts that we did to the back of the packet. 

Today we will review our results from yesterday and then move on to Investigation 3. You will need your packet, colored pencils and a pencil.

Good Morning!  Today we will finish investigation 2.  We will draw a diagram of a rock and then use a rock key to classify the rocks in the box by how they were formed.  I hope you had a great weekend.  You will need colored pencils a pencil and your packet.
